Every matcha bowl has a glaze and shape that is unique in form from the next. The irregularities of matcha bowls are designed to reflect the beauty of imperfection.
All of our matcha tea bowls are handcrafted in true Mino-Yaki style by highly skilled Mino-Yaki potters. No two bowls are exactly the same on account of each bowl being made by hand. We have a variety of styles and colors to choose from all of which are superb quality and hardwearing. All bowls are perfectly shaped for whisking your matcha into a vibrant froth.
What is Mino-Yaki?
Mino-Yaki is a style of pottery produced in Japan. It is produced in the Mino region which is a famous area of Gifu prefecture. It boasts a 1300 year history of producing Japanese pottery which started in the Heian period(794-1185). It is one of the largest centers of ceramic production in Japan, and one of the most well regarded areas for producing high quality matcha bowls.
Even today, Mino-Yaki still supplies a great deal of Japan's tableware, and still uses the traditional styles and methods of production.
