1. What does "first pick" mean?

Japanese green tea is picked throughout spring and summer. First pick tea is harvested in early spring (the first picking). First pick Japanese green tea is superior in taste, aroma and nutrients, therefore it is more expensive. If our green tea is not labelled first pick then it is not from the first picking in spring. You might also hear first pick green tea being called first harvest or first flush, all meaning the same thing.

2. What part of Japan is your green tea from?

We source our green tea from Uji in Kyoto because it is the best tasting tea in Japan. We sometimes stock tea from Fukuoka and Shizuoka, but only if they are of high quality.

3. How long will my order take to process and deliver?

Usually your order will take around 6-12 days to be delivered. In the holiday seasons it may take longer.

4. Where do you ship green tea to?

We ship our green tea worldwide including US, UK, Europe, Australia and many others.

5. How much green tea do you recommend purchasing at one time?

We recommend you order no more than two months supply of green tea at one time.

6. How quickly do you recommend I use my green tea after opening the packet?

You should use it within a month of opening the packet as it can quickly lose its quality after being exposed to air. If you can't use it within a month we recommend you store it in an air tight container or canister.

7. Is your organic green tea certified organic?

All our organic green tea is certified by JAS (Japan Agricultural Standard). This is the certificate given and accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan. Our Uji tea farm is also certified by USDA (United States Department of Agriculture).

8. Do you use a secure HTTP connection to process orders?

Yes, all our orders are processed securely using a HTTPS connection which encrypts all of your payment details.

9. Are my personal details safe with you e.g address, email address and telephone number?

Yes, we never sell, share, lend or give your personal information to any company or entity. The personal information you provide us stays with us, and will stay confidential.

10. Do all your matcha tins and tea packets have the expiry date written on?

Yes, all our organic tea has the expiry date clearly written on. Our matcha tins have the expiry date written on the bottom label, and our tea packets have the expiry date written on the back label. All our labeling and expiry dates are affixed at the farmers factory in Uji. WE NEVER SELL EXPIRED TEA.
